In August and September 2022, the Mill Creek Ward collected more than 100 full size toiletries and personal care items in connection with the annual Kansas City Temple Run on Labor Day. The donations were collected for Della Lamb, a local organization dedicated to empowering members of the Kansas City community to meet the challenges of education, employment, and self-sufficiency in an ever-changing world. Rob & Leslie Sloop, pictured below with two of their grandkids, organized the collection for Mill Creek Ward and, on the day of the race, set up a tent for collections and provided treats and water for runners.
